hydrosols
there are moments when something begins to speak more clearly.
for me, hydrosols arrived that way.
not as a product,
but as a response.
a way of listening.
what they are
hydrosols are aromatic plant waters, created through the distillation of fresh botanicals.
they are a way of distilling the essence of a plant into water — carrying its scent, its expression, and something more subtle that is felt rather than measured.
this way of working is not new.
it lives in me through a lineage of central european folk practice — traveling medicine women who worked closely with plants, land, and what could be perceived beyond the visible.
not concentrated.
not extracted.
but expressed.
distilling place
each hydrosol begins in relationship.
with the land.
with the plants.
with the moment in which it is made.
plants are gathered or grown in connection with place — often from the metolius basin or rhythm seed farm — and distilled slowly in a copper still with spring water.
but more than process, this is an act of attention.
of listening for what is present,
and allowing that to take form.
nothing is standardized.
nothing is repeated exactly.
each distillation becomes a kind of imprint —
of season,
of landscape,
of the subtle conversation between plant and water.
a way of holding place,
in a form that can be felt.
a different way of working
these are not formulations.
they are relationships.
over time, this work has become less about making something,
and more about listening for what wants to come
it is guided by presence rather than protocol.
how they are used
hydrosols are simple to work with, but deeply relational.
they can be used on the skin, through scent, or applied to the body — including intravaginally — as a way of gently clearing space, creating boundary, and building a more conscious relationship with both body and plant.
in this way, they are not only something you use,
but something you come into relationship with.
a way of listening.
a way of responding.
a way of returning to the body as a place of knowing.
small batches, shifting offerings
these hydrosols are made in small quantities and change with the landscape.
they are not mass-produced or replicated.
they arrive when they are ready.
once they are gone, they are gone.
co-creation
custom hydrosols are available.
these are created in conversation — with you, with the plants, and with what is present.
if you feel called, you’re invited to reach out and begin that process.
this work has become a way of understanding what it is to be human.
to listen.
to respond.
to participate.
from my heart to yours,
emma
