an invitation inward
as we move into the darkest season of the year, nature invites us inward.
within each of us lives an extraordinary ecosystem. a dynamic world of microorganisms, relationships + exchanges that influence how we experience life.
our digestive system is at the heart of this ecology.
it is where we receive, transform, assimilate + eliminate. where nourishment is taken in, where the body discerns what can be used + what is ready to be released.
and digestion is not an isolated experience.
the gut + nervous system are in constant conversation, influencing how we experience stress, emotion, sensation + the world around us.
we digest more than food.
thought forms, feelings, relationships + experiences all become part of the conversation we have with our bodies.
traditional herbal practices have long explored the relationship between stagnation, movement + the emotions we carry, including anger, resentment + grief.
what happens when we begin tending these relationships with the same attention we give to what we eat?
when we become curious about what nourishes us, what we are holding onto + what we are ready to release?
this is an invitation to explore cleansing as an act of tending.
not simply removing something unwanted, but cultivating a relationship with the living ecology within us.
making space for nourishment, movement, discernment + the body's natural processes of digestion and elimination.
just as we tend the soil of a garden, we can learn to pay attention to the conditions that support our own internal environment.
this kind of attention is part of the ongoing maintenance of our wellbeing. not a destination or a rigid protocol, but a relationship we return to throughout our lives.
over four gatherings, we'll explore traditional herbal perspectives, contemporary understandings of the microbiome + the ways our physical and emotional experiences meet within the body.
an opportunity to become more informed, more curious + more connected to the intelligence that lives within each of us.
because it all happens through the body.

week one · november 7
getting acquainted + finding our rhythmour first gathering is an opportunity to get to know one another, ask questions + become familiar with the journey ahead.
we'll walk through the cadence of the cleanse, explore the herbal kit + discuss how we'll move through the coming weeks together.
a chance to get oriented, understand what to expect + begin this experience with curiosity, clarity + intention.
week two · november 14
the ecology within: digestion, emotion + discernmentour digestive system is responsible for so much more than processing food. it is intimately connected to how we experience emotion, thought + the world around us.
we'll explore the gut microbiome, the gut-brain relationship + the ways we digest and integrate food, thought forms, feelings + experiences.
through traditional herbal perspectives, we'll consider stagnation and the relationship between digestion, anger, resentment + emotions we may be holding.
what does it mean to tend a digestive system that moves fluidly + dynamically?
to recognize what nourishes us, what we are ready to integrate + what is asking to be filtered, released or eliminated?
an exploration of digestion as both a physiological process + a living conversation with our experience.
because it all happens through the body.
week three · november 21
meeting the plants: stories, mythos + living relationshipsplants are so much more than a collection of constituents or therapeutic actions. they are dynamic beings, each with their own nature, stories + ways of engaging with the world.
this gathering is an invitation to become acquainted with the plants as allies, companions + teachers.
we'll explore their traditional stories, mythos, energetics + the wisdom carried through generations of relationship.
like any good teacher, plants can invite us beyond our perceived limitations, offering companionship + support as we explore unfamiliar territory.
these are some of my most beloved plant allies, truly incredible beings to become acquainted with.
an opportunity to move beyond what a plant does, and become curious about who it is.
week four · december 1
integration + carrying it forwardour final gathering is an opportunity to come together in person for an evening of shared nourishment, reflection, conversation + celebration.
we'll share experiences, consider what we've noticed + explore how the knowledge we've gathered can continue to inform our relationship with the body.
rather than arriving at a fixed destination, we'll explore what it means to carry curiosity, nourishment + awareness into everyday life.

plants are more than ingredients in a formula.
each carries its own history, traditional uses, energetics + relationship with the human experience.
throughout our time together, we'll explore the plants included in the Anima Mundi Parasite Defense kit, becoming acquainted with their traditional applications, stories + teachings.
we'll consider the relationship between plants, digestion, nourishment + the body's natural processes of elimination.
this is not an invitation to follow a rigid protocol without question.
it's an opportunity to learn, to notice + to participate with curiosity.
the herbal kit is included in your registration, but taking the preparations is entirely optional.
